The Revelation to the Messenger ﷺ, the birth of the Prophet ﷺ, his early years and his connection with several pious personalities who came before him, among them Khadijah binte Khuwaylid, are all mentioned in this chapter. He then mentions how he was blessed with the first revelation at the age of forty. 2. The Prophet ﷺ is reported to have been commanded by Allah to keep up his connection with the pious people who had come before him, and not to let the time which Allah had granted him slip away. He then goes on to mention how he was blessed with another revelation at the age of 64, and this is what has come down as verses number 44 – 88. 3. Verses 89 – 100 are a lengthy description of Doomsday and how it will be brought about. 4. Verses 101 – 103 contain a discussion on the Hereafter and the nature of judgment, as it is understood from the Quran, from Hadith and from Usool. 5. An explanation of verse 104 is given in verses 105 – 108, as well as verses 109 – 112 which talk about the day of Judgement itself. 6. The topic of war (Jihad) is discussed in verses 113-114 which follow an introduction. The next chapter (115–134) consists of two short readings (the beginning and end), followed by verses 135-144 which are devoted to explaining the causes, symptoms and perpetuation of slavery; including circumstances leading to its perpetuation. 7. In the eighth chapter, verses 145 – 150 explain what is lawful, with a deduction from the verse itself that whatever has been made lawful through the Quran and Hadith is entirely for Allah’s pleasure. 8. The ninth chapter of this collection begins with a discussion on how to prepare one’s self for death and how death will come, followed by a further explanation of what is permissible or otherwise; this section contains verses 151 – 164. 9. cfa1e77820
